Managing loneliness at Christmas

Managing loneliness at Christmas

The festive season is often portrayed as a time of joy, family gatherings and celebration. However, for many people, Christmas can highlight feelings of loneliness and make existing challenges feel heavier. Whether due to bereavement, distance from loved ones, changes in relationships or any other cause, loneliness at Christmas is far more common than many realise.

Local support in Taff Ely

Although loneliness can feel all-consuming, small actions can help restore a sense of connection, such as attend a community group to help you feel more connected and getting outside where possible, to lift your mood and ease feelings of isolation.

Community groups: There are community support groups across the Rhondda and Taff Ely area, various groups host coffee mornings, craft sessions, gentle exercise classes and social meetups throughout December.
