Who we are

GPs are the foundation of your ongoing healthcare

General Practitioners (GPs) are often the first people patients turn to when they feel unwell or have a health concern, they’re trained to assess symptoms, provide treatment, and guide you to the right care.

GPs look after both short-term illnesses and long-term conditions. They know your medical history, so they can offer care that’s consistent and tailored to your needs.

Each GP works as part of a wider team; this includes nurses, pharmacists, opticians, dentists, mental health professionals and other specialists who work together to make sure you get the right support.

How we can help

The care and advice you need, when you need it

GPs are trained to support people at every stage. Whether you’re feeling under the weather or managing a complex condition, your GP is there to help.

01.

Understanding what’s wrong

GPs listen to your concerns, ask questions and carry out checks to work out the cause of your symptoms. They can organise blood tests, scans or other investigations if needed.

02.

Supporting long-term conditions

If you live with a condition like diabetes, asthma or high blood pressure, your GP helps you manage it with regular reviews, advice and medication where needed.

03.

Connecting you with other services

If your GP thinks you need more specialist care, they can refer you to a consultant or another service. They stay involved to help make sure your care is well coordinated.

04.

Keeping you well

Your GP also helps with prevention. This includes things like vaccinations, health screenings, stop smoking advice and support with lifestyle changes.

05.

Home visits for housebound patients

GPs can make home visits for patients who are housebound or too unwell to attend the surgery – find out more about home visits.
