Home Visits
Ensuring Care for Housebound and Severely Unwell Patients.
What are home visits
Home visits are available for patients who are housebound or severely unwell. If you believe you require a home visit from a GP, please contact us as early in the day as possible, where your request can be assessed and triaged.
These visits support individuals who cannot safely leave their homes due to illness or mobility issues. Early requests help us plan care effectively and ensure timely support for those in need.
Who we can help
Home visits are reserved for housebound and severely unwell patients
Home visits take more time than in-practice appointments, so we reserve them for people who truly need them. You should request a home visit if you are housebound and cannot leave home under any circumstances.
Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit, so please help us to help you and other patients by visiting your surgery whenever possible.
We want to see patients as quickly as possible, and the best way is often to encourage them to come to the surgery, because your GP will have access to all your medical records, including those held on computer. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the surgery.
Babies and small children should always be brought to the surgery where we will do our best to see them promptly.
