Dementia support
Local support with experienced Dementia Advisors
The Alzheimer’s Society provides local one-to-one, personalised information, advice, and support to people diagnosed with dementia, as well as their carers, family, and friends. Fully trained Dementia Advisors are available to help both before and after a diagnosis and they can also support those who do not yet have a diagnosis but are concerned about their memory.
What they do
Alzheimer’s Society can support in a variety of ways
- Support you to get and understand a diagnosis of dementia
- Provide information and advice about dementia and coping strategies
- Support to understand entitlements, including benefits
- Signpost/refer to appropriate community groups/services
- Refer to any of our services
- Provide emotional and practical support
- Provide Keeping in Touch calls to support throughout the journey with dementia
- Deliver an information and support programme for carers of people living with dementia (CrISP)

The Frailty Nurses are working for the GP practices in Taff Ely to provide assessment, advice and support for patients, their families and carers at home.
Case UK Wellbeing Support
Case UK offer rapid access to physiotherapy, psychological, and occupational therapy across Cwm Taf Morgannwg and Taff Ely area. It is fully funded by the Welsh Government and comes at no cost to you.
