Local support with experienced Dementia Advisors

The Alzheimer’s Society provides local one-to-one, personalised information, advice, and support to people diagnosed with dementia, as well as their carers, family, and friends. Fully trained Dementia Advisors are available to help both before and after a diagnosis and they can also support those who do not yet have a diagnosis but are concerned about their memory.

What they do

Alzheimer’s Society can support in a variety of ways
  • Support you to get and understand a diagnosis of dementia
  • Provide information and advice about dementia and coping strategies
  • Support to understand entitlements, including benefits
  • Signpost/refer to appropriate community groups/services
  • Refer to any of our services
  • Provide emotional and practical support
  • Provide Keeping in Touch calls to support throughout the journey with dementia
  • Deliver an information and support programme for carers of people living with dementia (CrISP)
