Choose Well Scheme
Helping you choose the right care, at the right time.
About
What is the Choose well Scheme?
The Choose Well Scheme helps you decide which NHS service is right for your needs – whether it’s self-care, a pharmacist, GP, optician, dentist, NHS 111 Wales, or A&E. Choosing the right care means faster treatment and helps reduce pressure on emergency services.
In our Cluster area, we encourage patients to see the most appropriate healthcare professional at the right time, this ensures you get prompt care and support.
Take a look at the image below to help you decide which healthcare professional is best for your needs and when to contact them.
NHS Wales
NHS wait times and patient numbers
In the Taff Ely Cluster, A&E services are provided by the Royal Glamorgan Hospital, which often faces high patient numbers and long waiting times. We encourage you to check your symptoms before attending, and hope this helps you understand the pressure on emergency services and why it’s important to choose well.
Since September 2018, all our practices have used the Care Navigation Service to help guide patients to the right professional at the right time, click here to find out more about our Care Navigators.
