Ara Cymru is a trusted partner of GamCare funded by GambleAware. We are the leaders in gambling interventions. We have had a presence in South Wales since 2012 and in April 2019 were asked by GamCare to develop this service throughout Wales. According to the Gambling Commission there are 28,000 problem gamblers in Wales with 97,000 at risk. The cost implications can be massive in terms of health and wellbeing as well as finances and resources. Research shows that for every one problem gambler up to 6-15 people can be affected. Ara Cymru recognises the impact of problem gambling on others who may be affected which is why our service is available to them. Our service is specialised and referral is easy.
