Zero Tolerance Aggression Policy
All cluster practices operate a zero tolerance policy towards any patient who is threatening, violent or abusive to any of our staff or professionals.
Such patients will be reported to the police and removed from the practice list. Patients will be informed in writing of the reasons for removal and the action they need to take to register with an alternative surgery.
It may be that the Healthboard (following advice from the Police) may request that aggressive and violent patients will need to register with the Safe Haven service which involves receiving your future healthcare services in a secure location with Police presence. These decisions are not taken lightly, but there need to be serious consequences for these cases.
