Jobcentre Plus services offer a wide range of support to people with health conditions/disabilities both mental and physical who are looking to improve their well being and future prospects.
The role of the Disability Employment Adviser (DEA) is to support people whose health is affecting them on a daily basis preventing them from participating in activities they would like to do. We work alongside many community based projects/teams as well signposting to appropriate organisations who are able to provide specialist help for those individuals.
Some of the people we are in partnership with are MIND, Elite Specialist Employment Agency, The Autism Directory, Gofal, Housing organisations, Supporting People Project, Carers Project, Community Mental Health Teams, Voluntary organisations(Interlink), Citizens Advice Bureau ..and many more.
Who is the service for?
Anyone with a health condition or disability wanting advice & support regarding services available in their area and how to access them.
Who is the service ‘not’ for?
Young adults under the age of 18

Services available
- Initial 1-2-1 assessment with the DEA to ascertain what support is needed.
- Referrals to partner organisations including condition management programmes, courses to help with confidence building and motivation.
- Advocacy with third parties
- Referral to provision & training courses internally & externally.
- Volunteering & Work Experience opportunities.
- Advice on returning to work or self employment.
- Possible funding for any work related activities.
- Referral to drug & alcohol support agencies.
- Referral to adult & youth mentors.
- Jobclubs, including specialist workshops for people with communication difficulties.
- Access to work support
- Support from work psychologist
