There are now a number of ways you can access physiotherapy services in Taff Ely.
You do not need to see your GP if you are suffering with joint or muscular pain or may need assessment, advice or management for such issues, as all GP practices in your area have physiotherapist and these can be your first point of contact. You get in touch by calling your GP practice, giving as much information as possible to the receptionist about your pain, the issue and they can book you a next available clinic slot with the physiotherapist. They will contact you and offer advice, management techniques and refer you to another service if needed. They will also offer you a face to face appointment at your surgery should you need one.
Local Self Referral Service - Physiotherapy - Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (nhs.wales)
Opening Times: Monday to Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm
Your local Health Board provide a self- referral system and you can telephone the physiotherapy hub on 01443 715012 or use the online referral form by clicking here.
A clinician from the physio department will review your symptoms with you over the telephone and offer you advice on self-management and if necessary an appointment as appropriate.
If you do need an appointment, once triaged, the service will offer the first available appointment in Cwm Taf, but for convenience patients can request their nearest site which in our Cluster would normally be Dewi Sant Health Park (Pontypridd) or Royal Glamorgan (Llantrisant), though this may mean a slightly longer wait.
