Firstly, please remember it's that time of year again - Flu season - and eligible patients can receive their jab in their surgery. Please click here for more general info about eligibility, and the importance of receiving your jab - both on an individual level, but also in order to protect others.
This year, there is a new, more advanced jab, the 'adjuvant flu vaccine' available for the over 65's, though there have been stock/supply issues nationally; please contact your practice to find out when you can book your jab, as this is the recommended jab for this age group, even if it means a slight delay. We are hoping this will be up and running in the new year, and will provide more info when we have it. e-Consult: One of our Cluster practices, Parc Canol have recently started using e-consult, which will allow their patients to utilise online consultations. The practice responds to these online requests within 2 working days, and this affords patients a convenient method to make contact at a time that suits them. It is obviously not appropriate for all medical issues, for instance if an examination is required, however we think this system is something we can all learn from going forward, and the Cluster will be monitoring their progress, with a view to other practices potentially rolling out this service next year. Local Activities: We have updated the community co-ordinator resources section for October 18. Also, our friends in the Garth Olwg Lifelong Learning Centre are offering a Wednesday "Chatty Cafe" from 2-3 for all local residents in the Cluster area, everyone welcome, for a cuppa and a chat! Free Courses: There are course starting currently across Taff Ely cluster area on both Mindfulness and Stress-Control, please click here to find out more detail. Comments are closed.
